Are you a breastfeeding mom or hoping to become one soon? If so, read on.
Done with babies? Stop here and check out how to cut clutter in your home. No really, stop.
Alrighty, now that I’ve got my target audience with me, let’s get personal. Too personal? Nah, I don’t think so. Breastfeeding has a way of knocking a few rungs from the modesty ladder.
Did you know that you can relieve those sore, lumpy, swollen nursing breasts with green cabbage leaves? I didn’t either, until a kind Tica friend offered the advice. Skeptical? You BET! I checked around online and found some supporters, and figured I had nothing to lose.
Green Cabbage Leaves Relieve Breast Engorgement Naturally!
How to Use It:
If your breasts are particularly tender and full, purchase a green cabbage and chill it in the fridge. When it’s cool, pluck off two leaves similar in size to your breasts. Insert each chilled leaf into your bra, directly covering each breast and wait approximately 30 minutes to an hour for relief.
Green cabbage leaves possess natural chemicals which work to dry up milk production, therefore reducing breast engorgement and alleviating the soreness that accompanies the first weeks of breastfeeding.
I’m no scientist, so you’ll have to look elsewhere for the bio-speak explanation of why it works. All I know is that it really does work, but don’t just take my word for it. Try it for yourself!

Jelli, thanks for the kind words on my Camping post! It’s nice to “meet” you, looks like you’ve got a great thing going here! (and I’ve heard about the cabbage trick, the question is, who first discovered that. “Seran wrap… no, chocolate… nope, cabbage…hmm… sweet relief!” lol

Glad to see that they worked for you too. Such an odd remedy, but it costs pennies and is au natural. I love it!

Hello, I just wanted to say that I am a nursing student and it is a prActice that even our teachers teach us to teach to our patients. I have yet to try it because I’m currently breast feeding our baby daughter and want to dry my breast milk soon.
