Italians love food.
They also know how to save time washing up. One of the greatest kitchen design assets that nearly every home I visited in Italy has is this fantastic Italian kitchen over-the-sink drying rack.
I heart this cheery orange kitchen (a friend’s)
These make clean-up so much easier, as you get to skip the drying phase all together. The water on dishes simply drips down into the sink, or into a little tray that you can slide underneath the lowest rack.
1. Wash 2. Set in rack 3. Done!

Love this! Be inspired.
that’s a brilliant idea!! I would love something like that! Especially that you can hide the dishes, that’s awesome!

It really is! You can stack those wet dishes high until you have time to put ’em away. I really loved it (not that I did that ever;)
Love it! Wow! I’ve never seen that before…we are without a dishwasher, so that looks a lot neater than my large pile of dishes I refer to as “art” drying….

It’s great, really! I’ve never lived with a dishwasher save a few years in university, but I’ve never missed it. Perhaps that’s because I never got used to it? Same with a microwave. Didn’t have one until around age 14 or 15 and still prefer not to have it (though we do).
Thanks for visiting my blog “One Chic Mom” and I love how you support other blogging moms. I am your latest follower, hoping you will follow back.
Love the kitchen, colour and drying rack. I love my dishwasher because I’ve got four children. Growing up we didn’t have a dishwasher and didn’t need one until I had all those kids!

I am loving the open shelves! For our next home, I think we will do something like that
And thank you again for stoping over at our blog! Hope you have a wonderful day!

This is awesome! Great for keeping sticky little fingers off too! Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
I hadn’t considered that. Thanks for your insight! I can tell your kiddos must be older than mine.
This is lovely! My kitchen has similar style: drying racks over the sink, opened shelves and keeping everything by hand in the tiny kitchen. I think in Europe we love this
I think Europe is smart that way. Thanks for visiting, Hanni.
Such a great idea. Too bad we have a window over our sink! But I hardly dry my dishes anyways, they air dry until they are used again or put away.
