Big news guys! We’re expecting baby #3 this September. Yep, that’s 3 kids in a little under 4 years. I know, what am I thinking?! But seriously, we’re beyond excited!!
Since my “skinny” jeans are getting tighter , I thought I’d share with you my favorite ways to turn your favorite jeans or trousers into maternity pants with these fun DIY maternity pants tutorials.A friend recently showed me how to do the most basic sewing, so the sky’s the limit…sort of 😉

So far I’ve only completed one of these jeans transformations, (the one above) but I’ve got another pair of rose-colored cords waiting on the sidelines, waistband already removed and ready to be remade into maternity pants using the detailed tutorial below.

This next maternity pants tutorial from Say Yes is pretty much genius because you transform your favorite jeans into maternity jeans and then afterward have the potential to return them to normal jeans again by removing the extra elastic and stitching them right up. Isn’t that clever?

**Bonus… it’s also nice to save cash and sew your own belly band so that your regular jeans can be wora few extra months. I also love my DIY belly band from this tutorial at A Beautiful Mess because it allows me to wear non-maternity tops even when my tummy grows without worrying about any skin showing.
Please share this post with all your pregnant friends!
Cheers,

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! That is so exciting! Our first two are 18-months apart, so there’s a chance we’ll have three under 4 in the next two years, too. That is wonderful news!
Second, these are great tutorials! I have never thought about sewing my own belly band either, which duh, why wouldn’t you!? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Chelsea! You know, I’d never considered making my own belly band either, but even if you just have a bit of stretch fabric lying around, its the perfect way to cover the tummy and save cash. Have a great week.

Congratulations! That is awesome! When our 4th was born this fall, our oldest hadn’t turned 5 yet, so we had four ages four and under and it is AWESOME! People think we are nuts (and at times were are 🙂 but I couldn’t imagine it any other way, we are blessed beyond measure!

Thank you for the encouragement, Dawn! I definitely admire mamas like you who can handle having tiny kids back to back and thoroughly enjoy it. I can totally see how people think we’re nuts, but goodness it’s a fun (albeit challenging) ride. You’re the type that moms like me glean advice from. Thanks so much for stopping by. Yep, kids are definitely a blessing, and I love that mine will be close in age.

Congratulations! I’m due with my #3 at the end of August, or beginning of September, too! I have a 4yr old & 2 yr old. You will do great with your 3 little ones, I’m sure. We just take it one moment at a time right? And God’s grace is there for that moment! 😉
