Have you ever spilled oil on your clothing and had absolutely no idea how to get it out? What if I told you that all you need is ONE natural ingredient to get that pesky oil stain out of your clothes for good? Here’s the effortless way I remove oil stains on clothing.
This stain removing tip works great for cooking oils, body oils, and massage oils. I’ve used it time and time again for removing sweet almond oil from my clothes. I use almond oil often as a carrier oil with my essential oils and always wind up with drips on my pants. This natural stain remover takes it out every time!
What you need: Eucalyptus oil
How to treat the stain: Right before laundering, apply a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the oil stain and rub it in gently. Toss the soiled garment into your normal laundry cycle to wash. Presto!
Note: I’ve never needed to retreat a stain using this method, but be sure to check your garment to make sure stains are removed before throwing the load into the dryer, as the dryer is known to set stains.
*This is the eucalyptus oil I am currently using.
Hope you love this simple, effective laundry tip! (Because it’s probably the only one I’ve got. )

Awesome! I’ve never tried that before, but I do have a grease stain on one of my pants! Thanks so much for the tip!

Chelsea, I hope you have as great of results with it as I have. I was pretty impressed with it- especially since I’d previously misunderstood that essential oils aren’t really oils, per se. I still have a lot more to learn about using them, but so far, I’m loving it!

I realize this is a super old post but I just purchased a new dress and before even wearing it accidentally spilled avocado oil on it! I am on vacation and don’t have access to a washing machine nor any laundering amenities and am wondering if this still works on stains that have been there over some time?
Jelli says
Hi Jennifer, this should work, no matter if the stain has been there for a week or so. Thanks for contacting me.
