Fierce Love: What is it?

May 10, 2014 By Jelli 10 Comments

When you become a parent you get a closer glimpse of how firece the love of God is for his children.

Nursing my baby I look down at his butterfly lashes, closed peacefully as he suckles. He is tender, tiny, helpless- just like we are under Go’ds care. He clings to me, trusting wholly my embrace to comfort him, to provide security and warmth. He knows I will meet his every need.

I love him fierce.

God wants us to be like little children. To trust like a newborn longs for his mother. We are wee creations compared to Him, the Almighty.

He longs for us fiercely and tneerly to run into his embrace. How crazy is that, to know that the God of the universe, Creator of everything loves you and me?

He aches for us to lean in and hear His heartbeat and let Him be our ultimate comfort source and resting place.

He loves us fierce.

He loves me. He loves you. Like a newborn, seek Him in the late hours of the night and under the warm sunshine of day. Rest in His peae. Let his warm breath and gentle voice be your everything, speak to your being.

Let Him be the reason you live.

It really is crazy to think about how much you love just one of your children, and then imagine that God loves every single one of His children even more than that. I am so glad He does, though!!

Isn’t that amazing? Just knowing that we can’t even fathom the depth and breadth and reach of his love is enough to put me in my place sometimes. Thanks so much for sharing, Chelsea!

Wonderful post Jelli! He does love us fiercely… and so we are to love others fiercely as well. This “theme” of love has been echoing through my life lately. It’s so exciting when God speaks to us in various arenas of our lives. He is great!

Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a blessed day.

Thanks, lady. I’ve had it scrawled in a notebook for ages and it seemed perfect for Mother’s Day weekend. Hope you have an absolutely beautiful week.

Love! It is definitely amazing how fiercely God loves us. I make sure to set aside time to reflect on that and make sure I’m trusting in Him the way I should and allowing Him to lead me in the right directions.

    Hi April,
I’ve said a number of times behind the pulpit that becoming a parent truly helps us better understand God’s love. Hard to believe that God could love us MORE than we love our kids.
