Flour Play

January 23, 2014 By Jelli 10 Comments

My daughter had a moustache. A bonafide, clear-as-day moustache. It wasn’t milk, it was flour.

Flour, the perfect un-toy! Playtime activity for tots from JellibeanJournals.com #play #kids Kids often have more fun with simple household items than with toys. My toddler recently discovered flour and is all kinds of crazy for playing in the white dust for hours. Yes, I said hours. This is good, very, very good!

Fun with Flour Playtime Activity #kids #playtime #sensoryplay | JellibeanJournals.comI set up a play table with a muffin tin, bowls and plastic cups, a cookie scoop, and a few other odds and ends from my kitchen and let her go to town in the flour. She got to tie on a cute apron, and get her hands dirty- kids love that!  I loved having a few minutes to tidy up and cuddle with my wee baby.

Fun with Flour Playtime Activity #kids #playtime #sensoryplay | JellibeanJournals.comSure, she had flour in every nook and cranny around the kitchen and wore that ‘stache like a regal gentlelady, but the sensory playtime and fun she had was well worth the time spent cleaning up. Honestly, it only took a few minutes to get it all up off the tiled floor.

I couldn’t let my toddler go at it in the kitchen, but I’ll do this outside this spring!

I often do that same thing. We did a jello play activity out in the yard. So much easier to clean up! Thank you for stopping by this weekend, Annette. Thought I had your party listed on my link parties page. Will double check. Thanks for the heads up.

So cute! Looks like a fun mess 🙂 I’ll be doing this with my daughter this week for sure since we are practically snowed in.

How cute, I love this idea. We’re going to be cooped up inside for the next couple of days, I think I may bust out the flower for my toddler.

Oh you are a brave woman indeed. I wish I could be more relaxed about mess. I will think about trying this outside when it gets a bit warmer. Thanks so much for sharing with the Monday Pin It Party. I have pinned and shared.
