Today Summer Elizabeth and I spend most of the day retreating to her new potty every 15 minutes for day #1 of potty training. It was draining. Pardon the pun.
Armed with information gathered online, and holding tightly to this insightful potty training guide, we went at it full force and made some progress, I think. Thankfully Husband was able to find some infant panties of sorts at a discount store downtown, and we’d stashed away 1 trainer and a pair of rosy pink plastic bloomers for bedtime.
I’m hoping that “Pee pee goes in the potty!” clicked in her sweet little mind, and that tomorrow those 15 minutes can be stretched out to 20. My only regret is my inability with a sewing machine. I’d have loved to have had an arsenal of these cute DIY training pants ready to go. Wish us luck, friends. This adventure is far from over, but stubborn I am, especially to get Summer Elizabeth out of diapers before baby #2 arrives.

Good luck with the potty training! I want to start this spring, once the weather is a little warmer. I think you’ve got plenty of time before baby #2 arrives!
Jelli says
You’re right, we do have time and the more we try, the more I think we just might need it 😉 Have a great week, Erika and thanks for the positive perspective!

Oh thanks for the link-up. I have potty trained twice now in two years time (with my two girl 16 months apart) and wishing you the best of luck on this from one potty training mother to another 🙂 🙂
Jelli says
Thank you, Janine. It’s tough, but we’re still trying. If baby’s still not progressing, I think in another day we’ll call it quits for a month or more until she’s better able to grasp the concept. For now, plowing on and hoping she figures it out. What fun it must be for your girls to have a sister so close in age! Is it tough for you though?

Good luck on potty training!!
Jelli says
Thanks! I know we’ll need it.

Hope potty training takes off and is hugely (and quickly!) successful! Thanks for welcoming me as a co-host today, Jelli 🙂

Happy to have you on board, Meredith! Thanks for joining us.

Wow, good luck on the potty training! This makes me feel like I’m missing the boat, because my daughter is just four days older than Summer! But I’m planning on introducing her to the potty this spring, and she’s pretty smart, so hopefully it goes well. I’m also hoping to have her at least started on the whole being potty-trained by the time baby #2 comes around. We’ll see. I’ll look forward to your updates!
Thanks for having me on a co-host this week–it’s been fun 🙂
Jelli says
It seems like we might be taking a few weeks break and trying again later. It’s been two days with no progress. Thankfully, it hasn’t been near the battle or mess I’d imagined, for which I’m grateful. Here’s to two potty trained girls this spring!
Kera says
I agree! I think they can do it!

Aw, thank for stopping by, Diana! I appreciate the visit.

Oh my goodness, potty training can be so hard!! If I told you the horror stories I have had with potty training so far, you wouldn’t even want to start! Lol! I hope she has gone pee in the potty sense this post!! xoxo
Jelli says
Gosh, please keep those stories to yourself 😉 Actually, we decided she wasn’t quite ready, so we’ve put a standstill on things for a couple more months. Have a good day, Cassie!
