Picnic at the art festival this weekend: tuna sandwich // tomato bits
My toddler eats mini meals four times per day. Most of the time, all her little girl meals vary nutritionally but generally include protein, whole grains, and fruits or vegetables. Since I know I’m not the only mom out there who lacks mealtime inspiration from time to time, I thought I’d snap a few photos of Summer Elizabeth’s toddler mini meals to share with you for the next few weeks.
Yes, I realize that tropical fruits are probably hard to come by, and we might eat some odd combinations, but these meal photos are meant to inspire colorful, nutritious plates for your toddler to grow & enjoy. Sub out no-go veggies for her faves, mango & papaya for apples & grapes. Make it work. Your child will thank you!

What great balanced meals! I think when we have kids, I’m going to try and make them fresh. Did you do that?
For the most part, I buy our produce at the farmer’s market every week and steam the veggies that Summer won’t eat raw. I really do my best to try to feed her fresh foods & whole foods rather than packaged. Every now and then she’ll have whole-grain sandwich bread or a tortilla, but not often. Thanks for visiting, Yen!
Those look good enough for ME to eat!
Sometimes my little girl has meals I’d rather be eating than what’s on my plate, especially at breakfast. Thanks for visiting, Beth!
I love your mini meals. Thanks for the inspiration! I love how all or most of it is whole foods. We’re trying to develop healthy tastebuds in our little guy as well. 🙂
That’s great! The way I figure it, if they start off eating whole foods, they’ll likely love them later on. Even if not, at least we know we’ve gotten them off to a good start. Thanks so much for visiting, Elise.
