You Want to Feed Baby WHERE?!

September 28, 2015 By Jelli 48 Comments

It’s 7 a.m. Tall towers of colorful wooden blocks have been constructed and have come tumbling down for at least an hour in my tots’ room as the newborn and I snuggle deeper into the covers, trying our best to ignore the noise and squeeze in 10 more minutes of snoozing in the adjoining bedroom.visa card giveaway At last my creaky white bedroom door opens slowly and a newly two year-old curly locked boy peers in. Seeing baby Grace wide-awake, he skips over to the bed wearing a wide, toothy, precocious grin. “Mommy, me milk! Me milk, Gracie!” he shouts excitedly, lifting his lion cub pajama top to show me his belly button. My two year-old son wants to nurse his baby sister… on his belly button.baby formula giveawayI smile, trying hard to stifle laughter. He’s dead serious and set on breast belly button feeding his week-old sister. Clearly I have some human anatomy education to give. My child is a hoot. One of a kind. Both Elijah and Summer, my two older kids, are crazy in love with their new sister. Thankfully, we’ve seen no real jealousy issues so far. Both kids beg multiple times a day to hold her, change her diaper, and especially to feed her. Glad I’ve got bottles handy!
Speaking of bottles, have you seen the prices of baby formulas on the market? Goodness, it could really get expensive buying brand name formulas, not to mention diapers! (That’s a big reason why I cloth diaper!) Did you know that store brand infant formulas provide the same complete nutrition as name brand infant formulas? It’s true! All infant formulas in the U.S. must meet the same FDA standards, meaning store brand infant formulas meet or exceed those standards and have been clinically proven to be as well tolerated as name brands like Enfamil® and Similac®. You can really save big filling your baby’s bottles with store brand formulas too, since many times store brands like Target’s up & up or Walmart’s Parent’s Choice can cost up to 50% less than name brands. That could add up to savings of nearly $600 per year. That’s big!

What if I told you that you could win $5000 cash AND a year’s supply of formula?

Here’s the scoop: Every baby is unique. Show us how YOUR baby is unique. We’re looking for funny, silly, odd, crazy unique baby photos. Visit the sweepstakes page at StoreBrandFormula.com to submit a photo of your unique baby for a chance to win $5,000 and a year’s supply of Store Brand Formula. All entries must be submitted during September 28, 2015 – November 5, 2015.

As I sit back and watch my son bottle feed baby Grace, her tiny head propped up on his lap, I’m just so grateful for each of my three little blessings. Each one so different and unique, filling a special role in our little family. baby sister Summer is a mini-mommy, mimicking everything I do, snatching baby diapers for her dolls, burping them just so, and making sure Elijah stays in line. She even scolds my husband and I when we’re not being good role models of the table manners she knows so well. Elijah is an adventurer. He loves to jump from every possible location- chairs, beds, trampolines, shelves… and to survey new territories. It makes this mama nervous to say the least, but I love it when he comes back from an adventure with treasures to show me and new stories to tell me in his high-pitched little boy voice, faced smudged in I-don’t-want-to-know-what. baby GraceGrace is our newest addition. I’m still figuring her out, but her personality is very chill. She welcomes anyone to hold her, and she sleeps well at night. No complaints here! Now for a BlogHer give away! Just tell me, what’s something funny that your child’s done this week for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card.   Hugs, jelli sig text png     Entry Instructions: No duplicate comments. Oh my goodness, Grace is so precious! I mean honestly, all of your kids are beautiful! My daughter just turned one and is now drinking 100% cow’s milk and I’m so glad because we can save on baby formula now! We used store brand with her, and never had any problems. Plus it was so much cheaper!! Thanks for sharing a fun giveaway and such a sweet story!

Glad to hear your daughter had a good experience with store brand formula. I’d definitely consider it myself if I need to take time off nursing. Hope you have a beautiful week with your little one year-old, Chelsea!

This morning my son told me that his younger sister isn’t very good at caring for her online animals on the game they play. He said instead of feeding the chickens, she accidentally hits them.

I’ve been babysitting my great-nieces the past few weeks and it was pretty funny watching the two year old making play-doh clothes for her dolls.

Did she actually try the Playdoh on the dolls? I can imagine that would be a recipe for disaster if it stuck to them. Love kids’creativity!

Yup – they were “designed” right on the dolls. We got them off OK. They were plastic dolls.

When my son was a toddler, he walked early, at 10 months. I thought that was amazing and unique. He wanted to keep up with me around the house and crawling wasn’t fast enough
