In no time flat, you can turn an ordinary pasta dinner into a high-class pasta affair.
In our house, pasta and tortillas reign supreme. Whenever we’re in a menu rut (which honestly doesn’t happen too much because yours truly is a bit of a menu-planning fanatic) we generally pull out a bag of whole-wheat pasta and get to work with whatever happens to be hanging out in the fridge that day. Husband is quite the pasta pro. He can mix the oddest ingredients (read: apples) together to make a five-star worthy pasta in under 30 minutes. Nevertheless, on the less inspired days, here’s a quick and easy was to improve just about any pasta dinner.
Haute-ify your pasta!
3 ingredients and 5 minutes is all you need.
What You’ll Need (for 2 servings):
Heat skillet over medium-high heat.
Dice tomato and avocado into bite-sized pieces.
Add tomato to dry skillet and sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. When hot and bubbly add the avocado and heat through. Add this lovely mixture to the top of any pasta dish and arrange basil leaves (whole or sliced, your choice) over the top. Dig in!

What’s your favorite way to dress up a drab meal?
This looks amazing!! I’m going to have to give it a try 🙂 super cute blog btw!
Thanks, Jayda. I’m sure you’ll love it.

Yum! That looks good. And easy enough for me to do while taking care of the babies. Thank you for sharing!
You’re oh-so-welcome. Easy tasty concoctions are my specialty…when I’m not trying an over-the-top dessert. Hehe. Hope you love it, Mary!

Oh yum! I love adding random stuff to pasta. I call it “everything but the kitchen sink” pasta. I like Haute-ify better! lol.
Good tip. I linked in spicy mince lettuce cups to Live.Laugh. Rowe’s linky party. Have a great week.
That looks really delicious. I’ve never thought to put avocado with my pasta before. I’m going to try this for sure! Thanks.

Yum! I’ve had something similar before that was delicious!
One of my favorite ways to dress up any grain and/or vegetable dish is to mix nutritional yeast flakes with some kind of fat and whatever herbs are handy. It makes a rich, delicious sauce that’s high in protein and B vitamins.
Never tried yeast flakes. You’ve peaked my interest with this. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the tip.
Drooling right now, kinda wish I could jump through this computer screen 🙂

I was just reading how avocado can be used as a butter substitute….that would make this a perfect recipe! yum… and my basil and tomatoes in the garden are just about perfect right now! I will try this recipe mix this week…!!! thanks!

Love this! Thanks for linking up! My go-to pasta meal usually consists of whole wheat penne or fuselli, with spinach, sauteed garlic, olive oil and whatever cheese I have on hand.
