Pinterest has the potential to grow your blog fast. Unfortunately, it is easy to forget about the content creators behind those gorgeous images we all love to pin. Don’t be another face in the crowd.
Make it a point to be a friend on Pinterest and watch your blog grow as a result!
This is the third and final post the series “How to Make Pinterest Work for You” where I’m sharing the best tips for skyrocketing your Pinterest following. Catch up here and here.
Here’s how it works…
I’ll give you a list of Pinterest assignments each week, one per day. I’ll even throw in a bonus for when you’re feeling extra peppy.
Schedule five minutes per day to dedicate to each assignment and checkity check them off your list as you go.
Let’s get started! Oh yeah… and please follow me on Pinterest while you’re at it.
This week’s task is to be a friend on Pinterest.
ONE:: Complete your Pinterest profile and verify your site.Put your best foot forward. Woo us with your description and include a catch phrase to reel readers in and follow you. Here’s a simple tutorial to help.
TWO:: Interact with pinners.
Click to “like” and repin others’ great content. Visit those who follow you and love on their pins.
THREE:: Check your Pinterest analytics to see what time you get the most traffic.
Be sure to pin or schedule for that time. It might correspond with your blog’s busiest day of the week. Max traffic equals maximum opportunity for interaction.FOUR:: Let people know when you pin their content.
Leave a thoughtful comment on the post. They’ll remember you and likely return the favor.
FIVE:: Make a flashy pinnable image to advertise blog giveaways.
Ask readers to pin the image as an entry. This was the #1 way folks chose to enter my last giveaway. Grab helpful tips to rock your photography with this insightful e-book. This post contains affiliate ads to help support my family at no additional cost to you.
SIX:: Join and create group boards.
Collaborate with friends. More eyes on your pins means more repins and new followers. If you’re new to group boards, read this article.
SEVEN:: Join Pinterest linky parties.
Meet other pin-minded friends, share their content, and get your posts seen! Here are three of my favorites.
BONUS:: Try Pinwoot.
Pinwoot is a free service designed to help pinners promote their content and reel in new followers. For maximum success, be sure to fill out your profile.
Take a few minutes this week to be a friend and show courtesy on Pinterest. You’ll be amazed at where a little kindness can take you!
Say… if you’ve got group boards, I’d love an invite! Can’t hurt to ask, right?!

I LOVE Pinterest. But I have very little clue “how” to use it. It’s such a great site though… I’m slowly getting into it. For a while I didn’t understand it, but it is totally great, particularly for guys like me who have “read” more picture books than word books… 🙂

It’s been a month for me using Pinterest. I always try to share unique and informative content but later I find out that it has been already shared.
So most of the time ,I just repin other people’s best posts on my Board. I got about 22 Followers there.
I will try your tips 🙂
Thanks
Jelli says
You know, it can be beneficial to you to be repinning, as long as the original source is correct. When people see you repinning their content, it’s likely they’ll come back and follow you. Hope you learn lots and really start to rock out Pinterest! Thank you again for visiting this weekend.

I haven’t utilized Pinterest for my own benefit yet.I am looking to increase number of followers first.
Btw, I hate the commenting system of Pinterest.
They prompt whenever someone write comments below yours.
ABC responded to your comment.
