Hello everyone! Gosh, it’s so good to be back after a few weeks off.
Today I wanted to put together a quick post to tell you about my favorite clothing to wear for outdoor photo shoots. I haven’t shared this on the blog yet, but I’m a photographer. In fact, squishy babies and families with rambunctious toddlers are my jive. Looove capturing candid moments all about the family connection.Of course, that means my own family are constantly “modeling” for me. Just this past week we took an early morning stroll through the neighborhood to test out a few new *gorgeous* locations for outdoor family shoots. It was a little muddy, as we’d had torrential downpours the days prior, but the sun shone bright and my littles were giddy to skip through the grassy trails again after being shut in.
As a mom photographer, I need clothes that stand up to outdoor sessions, are comfortable & made to last.I’d been contacted in August about trying a few pieces from prAna. Honestly, I’d never heard of them before, an outdoor active lifestyle clothing company priding itself in sustainable fibers… but this mama loves trying out quality goods and I’ll be honest, my 1-pair-of-jeans-closet needed a little updating. French chic, I am not (yet!) I’d never (consciously) purchased any garments made of organic before. After slipping into my new Kara jeans, the luxurious sensation of softness and stretch of these pants made me a believer. They are seriously the softest jeans I’ve ever worn. Love! They’re great for my hikes outdoors photographing clients and for dressing up for church too!
As a photographer who’s constantly bending over and contorting into all kinds of bizzare positions to get “the shot” I need long tops that cover. Tunics are perfect! The Deedra Sweater Tunic is a great choice for momtogs because it’s super soft and the loose knit makes it breathable and not too hot. In fact, I wore it out in 65F weather and wasn’t hot at all and I’m confident that it will keep me warm on a cool night just the same, especially if layered with a cami. It’s also made of organic cotton, which is silky soft to the touch. Feel so good against my skin! And I love the textured knit.
Find out why organic cotton matters.
*Sidenote, prAna doesn’t put obnoxious brand labels on their clothing. The jeans don’t have a big “Levi-style” patch but rather gorgeously crafted buttons with prAna’s signature styling.
Heads up, if you’re needing warm weather essentials or some workout gear to get you through a few awesome YouTube workouts for moms, then I’ve got you covered!
