Let’s talk about blog community. What kind of audience do you have now? What does your ideal readership look like? Do you yearn for a huge number of subscribers? A few loyal and insightful like-minded commenters? Helpful readers who ask questions and spurn both conversation and new post ideas?
No matter what your ideal blog community scenario, you can work toward reaching that goal through developing personal relationships with your readers. Real, meaningful interactions within your own site will gain readers’ trust, boost your credibility within your niche, and grow your audience beyond your wildest dreams.
No social media required.

Jessi, it’s encouraging to know that fellow bloggers back up my tips. I’m by no means a master blogger, but from experience (both mine and of others like you) really taking time to interact in a meaningful way with readers is incredibly important. Thanks for visiting!

I definitely agree with the ideas of your post. Bloggers who REALLY interact with readers and REALLY build connections through communication–that’s still needed, and it’s worth taking the time to do!
Jelli says
Glad you back me up, Rachel! It’s time consuming to really get to know readers but worth every single second. Thank you so much for stopping by today.

This thought has been in the forefront of my mind since reading Gary Vaynerchuk’s Thank You Economy. It’s amazing how he’s built his business on extraordinary acts of kindness. Thanks for touching on this great subject. BTW coming from Tatertots and Jello!

i am a full believer in visiting and commenting and then commenting back. it really burns me up when someone doesn’t visit my blog after i have taken the time to comment on theirs. it isn’t that hard and it’s an easy positive thing to do. and not only that, but you could come across a blog that you could totally love.
and so that’s how i’ve found you, lol. i love the thought of you and your hubby as cheapskates in france-i’m a cheapskate everywhere else, so why should vacation be different! the boyfriend was amazed at how cheap baguettes were…but we did participate in some expensive macarons. so worth it.
