Are you looking for an easy way to add more learning fun to your child’s day? A simple stack of flashcards and a laminator are all you need to create DIY educational placemats, a dynamic dinnertime learning tool! One package of flashcards can yield bunches of placemats, making this learning project as easy on the budget as it is easy to create.
Mr. Printables has a huge selection of free printable flashcards and learning materials that are perfect for this project. I used ladybug number cards, Spanish alphabet cards, and these basic shapes cards for my little girl.If you’ve got older kids, consider using mazes, word searches, or other puzzle printables. Simply give children a wet or dry erase marker and let them go to town.
Materials:
- Educational printable or flashcards
- Laminator
- Background colored construction paper or scrapbooking paper (optional)
Instructions:
Print out your learning material and trim it with scissors, if necessary, making sure it will fit within a standard laminate page. Glue onto background paper, if using. Laminate. Done! Since the placemats are laminated, clean up is a breeze.
Provecho!
