Proven Best Motivational Tool for Birth

October 20, 2013 By Jelli 3 Comments

Scripture verses are a powerful motivator during birth. Focus is everything when you feel like you just can’t possibly do it any longer. For both the natural home birth of my daughter and my son’s hospital birth, Scripture note cards were incredibly helpful to pull through the pain & remember that my Creator fashioned my body especially for the task at hand.

isaiah-26:3This was my primary verse for Summer Elizabeth’s home birth.

Your body is transforming faster than ever before, readying to push a sweet baby into your life and into your arms. Birth is intense, and without positive focus, it’s easy to come unraveled. Even the most radical natural birth spokeswoman might question her own adamant rejection of pain relievers written in her birth plan when transition hits.

Cozy up with your Bible, choose a few verses that really speak to your heart,  jot them down on pretty note cards, and tuck them into your hospital bag. Voila! You’ve just given yourself the best motivational tool for birth!

2 corinthians 12:9

This was the central verse for my son’s recent birth.

If you need help finding verses, here is the free mini-cards printable with 12 verses that I used for my son’s birth.

If you used Bible verses during birth, which did you choose? Let me know in the comments below!

Hi! SO true! I meditated on the first 4 verses of Psalm 23. God is good!
