Family First: Tidy Home

January 8, 2014 By Jelli 3 Comments

This is the second post in the Family First series. Read the saucy marriage post here.

The words “keeping house” make me think of 1950’s sitcoms, pearls, and perfectly polished silverware. Who does that? Family First Challenge: Tidy Home Checklist Free Printable | JellibeanJournals.com

Maintaining a tidy house is important to me and my family, whether or not I don an apron and heels to get the job done. Living in a uncluttered, clean environment keeps me sane, welcomes visitors, and helps my family stay healthy. With a baby and a toddler around, my house is a far cry from perfection, but I do my best to keep it tidy. Thankfully, my husband  helps out and my daughter is a two year-old neat freak.

As a newlywed, I made up an ultra-detailed cleaning checklist labeled with duties, necessary supplies to get the job done, and frequency of the task. This overkill, paired with monthly “super cleaning parties” quickly turned off my husband to household chores. One thing I did learn during these early days was the value of microfiber cleaning cloths. These cloths wipe everything spotless, launder up fresh, and even work well with homemade cleaners.Tidy Home Checklist Free Printable | https://jellibeanjournals.com/tidy-homeThis year, keeping the house tidy without going overboard is one of my priorities. Busy moms don’t have time to spend hours on housecleaning each week. I’ve designed a simple daily checklist to help make sure our homes are welcoming and comfortably clean; small tasks that you can do throughout the day to continuously maintain a neat home.

I ran across this the other day and thought that this is the perfect list for a mom of toddlers who is trying to get a handle on keeping the house clean, me! Thank you for posting this! I’m hoping to make these into a habit, then maybe cleaning the toilet or shower won’t take as much mental effort! 🙂
