Babymooning at the Beach // MBM

June 19, 2013 By Jelli 12 Comments

Who doesn’t love the idea of a babymoon? I mean, a vacation with pregnancy spoiling (please pass the dessert!) and a little R&R before a newborn arrives is probably top on the list of most moms-to-be whether it happens or not.

Thankfully, last week we were blessed with the chance to visit relatives in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, Costa Rica where we lived the “glamorous life” here for three days and soaked up a bit of sunshine mixed with welcome clouds. Pale skin + tropical sun is a brutal combo. Rashguards save the day!

Looks as though you had a wonderful time together, Jelli! That caterpillar is amazing! But your daughter is even more impressive (and adorable!)…

    Blessings and love to you…

Thanks, Tehila! We did have a great time exploring the beach with Summer for the second time. She’s still not a fan of the sea, as waves have a frightening effect on her, but she sure does love to splash in the pool. Thank you for stopping by!

So happy you could get away for a bit before baby #2 comes! The beach is always the best. Love the photos and that caterpillar looks just like the Eric Carle Hungry Caterpillar 🙂 Thanks for hosting once again mama!

You know, now that you mention it, that DOES look like the very hungry caterpillar, doesn’t it? Thanks for linking up, Kera!

Aww I have been at a couple of the places you took pics at. Your pics always make me want to go back to Costa Rica! I think that is going to be the plan for our ten year anniversary if all works out. I would really like to bring the kid/kids along too.

Swing by my link up if you want and share this post!

Glad to hear you were able to get a little R&R before the baby arrives. We honeymooned in Costa Rica and had a funny experience with a caterpillar. I’m not squeamish but it crept up on me from the headrest of our rental car. My husband very calmly said “Don’t panic” and then grabbed it and throw it out the window. I seriously have never freaked like that over a insect but the one that we saw was fuzzy and had antenna. I swear it was straight out of a sci-fi movie. I think my heart raced for an hour afterwards. I’m sure the locals thought it was hilarious. I would have laughed at me for sure 😉

I’ve had my incidences of bug freak outs, especially recently when I found a cockroach in my hair while I was fast asleep in bed. Ew! Thanks for sharing your funny experience. The bugs here are definitely one of a kind!
