I know, aren’t they pretty? Gotta love functionality meets fashionable. These ladies are super talented.

Oh hey girl! We have the same camera AND lens! Congratulations on getting your camera! I’m SO excited for you and SO excited to see all the beautiful pictures you take with it. Now sit down with that bunch of bananas and learn some manual!
Jelli says
I’ve downloaded the manual, but haven’t gotten too far yet. My mother-in-law will be visiting in about 2 weeks and will be bringing the camera with her, so I’ll finally get to test it out as I read the manual. Thanks for visiting!

I wish I was not so sewing challenge so that I could make one of these nifty and cute camera bags! 😉 Maybe I can bribe my mama into helping me? lol! I remember Lisa from Wine & Glue having a tutorial for a DIY camera bag too- http://www.wineandglue.com/2012/11/diy-purse-camera-bag-tutorial.html
Jelli says
A couple of these are no-sew, which is great for people like us who just plain can’t 🙂 I actually made a bag from one of these tutorials this week, stitching it by hand. It can be done, but isn’t any small effort. Thanks for visiting, Carrie!
Rachel says
This is such a great tutorial! I’ve been wanting a new camera bag… maybe I can make my own insert. 🙂
Jelli says
Go for it! I actually made one this week stitching it all by hand. It took a few more hours than if I’d had a machine, but was well worth the effort and savings.
Ruthy says
Rachel says
The camera looks beautiful. I can imagine it’s heavy and needs a good bag.
Jelli says
They’re actually fairly lightweight despite the looks. This one weighs about half a kilo, or somewhere around a pound. Not too bad, I guess.

Awesome! I have been meaning to make myself a camera bag, but didn’t know any tutorials, thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Jelli! Sorry it’s a bit late, but I just wanted to thank you for sharing my post with your readers! I hope you have found some inspiration for creating your own camera bag insert 🙂

And congrats on the new camera and lens! The Canon DSLRs are really worth the price you pay, and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed 😀

I really like the tutorial from Make it and Love it!
Jolleen Ruiz says
Very cute bags! My canon is so big and bulky and I hate carrying it around. This would be ideal!
Angie says
What a great looking bag (and camera)! I mainly use my phone, otherwise I just have a simple point and shoot. If I ever upgrade, I’ll keep this in mind.
Melanie says
One day I’ll own a DSLR. In the meantime, a mom can dream. 🙂
Jelli says
Melanie, you know, I’ve found that these DIY camera bags, with all their compartments, make great diaper bags and even purses. Let’s not be limited to thinking they’re only for cameras. Have a great day!
Andi says
pretty – and they make great bags for shopping also! 😀
Roxanne says
CUTE! The bags can be so expensive! What a GREAT alternative!
Mary Collins says
So creative and resourceful. I’m a horrible photographer so I admire you on two fronts.

Those are some great camera bag tutorials! I was sure I was going to have to make my own, but received the perfect one for Christmas a couple of years back and I love it! A camera bag should be unique just like all photographers are.

Jelli says
How exciting to get a camera bag for Christmas! I’m curious, what kind is yours and what do you love about it? I’ve got a JoTotes and am quite smitten but always curious about the other ones out there.
Marissa says
hmmm you know I don’t remember what kind it is, I know it was from a list of a few I liked on etsy…. It’s a dark salmon and white chevron pattern and has a matching strap for the camera. It fits my camera, two extra lens and my flash as well as my business cards and extra cards and batteries. It’s great. The outer shell is canvas so I can wash it when I want too. There are so many options out there.

Jelli says
Sounds great! Just curious, what’s you go-to lens?
Lori Schumaker says
I love these! I would be for sure the hippest basketball mama in the gym! I’m not much of a d-i-y’er these days, though. I need to buy one!!! Ha! Any recommendations?
Thanks so much for putting this fun idea into my head! 🙂
Blessings and smiles,
Lori
Jelli says
Lori, I’ve heard great things about so many camera bag brands. I myself did a review for the one I own by JoTotes. You can find it here.
Marie with spreading-joy.org says
Love this! I hope to have one of these one day. I can’t sew a lick so will have to purchase a cool bag.

I love it! I am definitely not that crafty lol!
